What is the Mathpix CLI?

mpx is the Mathpix command-line interface. It is organized as mpx <service> <command>: each
Mathpix product is a service, and its operations are the commands under it.

mpx scs convert paper.pdf paper.mmd

Two services ship today:

scs is the Mathpix OCR and document API on api.mathpix.com. It converts a single document,
a folder of documents, or one image; runs batch jobs through the Files API; and
manages data sources, webhooks, app tokens, results and usage.
pco drives a Mathpix Private Cloud OCR deployment in your own infrastructure.

mpx is a single static binary with no runtime to install. You do not need Python, Node, Java, or
Docker. Every command is an HTTP call you could make yourself, so the tool doubles as a reference
client for the API.

Why a CLI?

Scripting and automation. Convert documents from a shell script, a Makefile, or a CI pipeline.
Batch a folder in one command. Point mpx scs convert at a directory and it converts every
document in parallel, writing the outputs beside the inputs with a report.
The same API, less boilerplate. No hand-written multipart uploads, polling loops, or download
retries; the CLI handles them.
